They don't make 'em this way any more, but I know folks who won't wear any other formal shoe. The Basketweave Shoe has the traditional patent leather at the heel and toe, but the middle is woven leather. Hence, the name Basketweave. The result is a shiny/matte contrast just now becoming popular. The Basketweave was just ahead of its time. Now, the reason a lot of guys won't switch is that the woven leather part makes this shoe feel like an athletic shoe. Plus, it breathes. So, it's comfy as in soft and comfy, as in keeps the feel cool.
